Generation Partners

Generation Partners is a program that offers our customers the opportunity to generate their own energy through the installation of windmills or photovoltaic systems. The customer selects a vendor for the installation of a qualifying system and JCPB will credit the customers' monthly electric bill for energy generated by the system. Getting Started:

  1. Customer signs Generation Partners (GP) agreement with JCPB Marketing Department. Call 952-5142 to schedule an appointment to sign the GP agreement.
  2. Select a vendor for the installation of a "qualifying windmill or photovoltaic generation system." No technical support from JCPB or TVA is provided.
  3. Call 952-5034 to make an appointment with a JCPB Engineer to evaluate the generation installation.
  4. Purchase an electrical permit from the JCPB Engineering Department.
  5. Call to schedule an appointment for an inspection by the State Electrical Inspector.
    1. County: Call 282-6742. Available Mon – Thurs, 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM.
    2. City: Call 434-6047 or 434-6048. Available Mon – Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. *Need to call a day in advance for scheduling inspections.
  6. JCPB Marketing Department will process the agreement upon final inspection.
  7. The customer will then begin receiving credits for energy generated during each billing cycle on their monthly energy bill.
