Energy Audits
energy right® In Home Energy Evaluation
The energy right® In Home Energy Evaluation (IHEE) is a more in-depth evaluation than the energy right® ON-LINE OR WRITTEN Home Survey. The IHEE includes a thorough home energy inspection by one of our certified inspectors. With the IHHE program, you may even receive a cash incentive or financing assistance for installing home energy improvements. The recommended energy-related home improvements you make are eligible for reimbursement of 50 percent of the installation cost, with an upper limit of $500, or for convenient financing.
Eligible Improvements
These items are eligible for financing of all installed recommended measures up to $20,000 and subject to credit approval or up to a 50 percent cash incentive on recommended installation measures. Some items may also be eligible for federal tax credits. For information, see fact sheets available from your distributor or the Tax Incentives Assistance Project site.

Here's how it works – IHEE:
- Sign and return the energy right®IHEE Agreement to Participate to JCPB’s Energy Services & Marketing Department (952-5142).
- Pay the $75 inspection fee. *Note: The $75 fee may be reimbursed provided the participant spends a minimum of $150 for the installation of approved home energy improvements. So, the IHEE inspection could potentially be FREE.
- One of our certified home energy inspectors will conduct an energy evaluation at your home. Evaluations generally take one – two hours to complete. The homeowner must be present at the time of the evaluation.
- Following the energy evaluation, you will receive a report which will include any recommendations noted during the evaluation. Allow approximately two weeks following the inspection to receive your report.
- Next, determine the recommendations you plan to implement.
- Schedule the work with one of our Quality Contractor Network (QCN) members.
- Keep all receipts AND complete the Incentive Application and Affidavits included in your packet. Be sure the selected QCN member signs both the Incentive Applications and Affidavits.
- When all work is complete call JCPB’s Energy Services & Marketing Department at 952-5142 to schedule a final inspection. Return your receipts, Incentive Applications, and Affidavits to the JCPB Energy Services & Marketing Department at the final inspection.
- Decide whether you will choose either the financing or incentive option. You must choose one or the other. Additional paperwork will need to be completed for the financing program and you may be asked to visit our office in Boones Creek to complete paperwork for financing. If approved for financing, loan payments will be added to your monthly energy bill. If customers select the incentive option, they should allow 6 – 8 weeks from the final inspection date to receive their incentive payment. Regardless of whether or not customers choose the financing or incentive option, any customer who spends a minimum of $150 for approved home energy improvements will be reimbursed the $75 inspection fee.
