Painting Tip
Submitted by Angela, Johnson City
My quick tip is great when you are painting a large area or when you need to give the area a second coat. At the time you stop painting, Use aluminum foil to seal around paint brushes and paint trays. This keeps you from having to clean up. When you want to resume painting, remove aluminum foil from paint brushes and the paint trays, and you’re ready to go! You can also cover paint cans so you won’t have to pry the lid off each time. Another product that works just as well is Glad Press –n- Seal.

Mix following ingredients into a one gallon jug: 1 pint rubbing alcohol, ½ cup household ammonia, 1 tsp dish soap, enough water to fill the jug. Pour into a clean spray bottle. Spray window, let set for 30 seconds, then wipe with newspapers. Discard paper when it’s wet. Use plastic gloves; the ink will make your hands very dirty.

Refresh stale potato chips, crackers, or other snacks of such type by putting a plateful in the microwave for 30 – 45 seconds. Let stand for one minute to crisp. Cereals can also be crisped.
